Police are seeking a motorist who hurt a Hewlett 7-Eleven worker

The Nassau County Police Department issued another request on Jan. 3 for anyone who knows who is responsible for a March 7-Eleven incident that severely injured a store worker to step forward.

That day they released surveillance video footage from cameras that were pointed in the direction of the Hewlett store location’s parking lot. They say that they’re hoping that the description they provided of the female suspect and images of her car will help jog some Long Island residents’ minds about who she might be.

A police spokesperson notes that the woman had allegedly stolen merchandise while shopping in the Long Island convenience store on March 20 at around 2:56 p.m. When the woman walked to her car without paying that day, two workers went outside to confront her.

In the video, one of the employees can be seen opening the driver’s side door on the woman’s vehicle. As they do this, the woman appears to place her car in reverse. That employee holds on to her vehicle as she does this.

He ends up being dragged throughout the parking lot. It’s only after the woman crashes into another parked car that the employee loses his grip, and the suspect takes off. The worker suffered undisclosed injuries in the incident.

A police spokesperson has described their suspect as a 19 to 30-year-old Caucasian female that weighs an approximately 110 pounds and is five feet tall. The injured worker was able to identify her car as a dark-colored Jeep Compass. It had Maryland license plates on it.

The Nassau County Police’s 4th Squad is handling the ongoing investigation.

There are three steps injured workers should take after an incident. They should report what happened to their employer, seek immediate medical assistance and then speak to an experienced workers’ compensation attorney. A lawyer can advise you of your right to recover medical costs, lost wages and other damages that you may have suffered during your workplace accident.
